The Lovers. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF AHIH JKLM

The rose did caper on her cheekA
Her bodice rose and fellB
Her pretty speech like drunken menC
Did stagger pitifulD
-
Her fingers fumbled at her workE
Her needle would not goF
What ailed so smart a little maidG
It puzzled me to knowF
-
Till opposite I spied a cheekA
That bore another roseH
Just opposite another speechI
That like the drunkard goesH
-
A vest that like the bodice dancedJ
To the immortal tuneK
Till those two troubled little clocksL
Ticked softly into oneM
