How the old mountains drip with sunsetA
And the brake of dunB
How the hemlocks are tipped in tinselC
By the wizard sunB
-
How the old steeples hand the scarletD
Till the ball is fullE
Have I the lip of the flamingoF
That I dare to tellG

Then how the fire ebbs like billowsH
Touching all the grassI
With a departing sapphire featureJ
As if a duchess passI
-
How a small dusk crawls on the villageK
Till the houses blotL
And the odd flambeaux no men carryM
Glimmer on the spotL
-
Now it is night in nest and kennelC
And where was the woodN
Just a dome of abyss is noddingO
Into solitudeP

These are the visions baffled GuidoF
Titian never toldQ
Domenichino dropped the pencilC
Powerless to unfoldQ
