Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDB EEFGGF BBDHID

'T is so much joy 'T is so much joyA
If I should fail what povertyB
And yet as poor as IC
Have ventured all upon a throwD
Have gained Yes Hesitated soD
This side the victoryB
-
Life is but life and death but deathE
Bliss is but bliss and breath but breathE
And if indeed I failF
At least to know the worst is sweetG
Defeat means nothing but defeatG
No drearier can prevailF
-
And if I gain oh gun at seaB
Oh bells that in the steeples beB
At first repeat it slowD
For heaven is a different thingH
Conjectured and waked sudden inI
And might o'erwhelm me soD
