Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJK LMNO PQRQ STUT QVWV

Arcturus is his other nameA
I'd rather call him starB
It's so unkind of scienceC
To go and interfereD
-
I pull a flower from the woodsE
A monster with a glassF
Computes the stamens in a breathG
And has her in a classF
-
Whereas I took the butterflyH
Aforetime in my hatI
He sits erect in cabinetsJ
The clover bells forgotK
-
What once was heaven is zenith nowL
Where I proposed to goM
When time's brief masquerade was doneN
Is mapped and charted tooO
-
What if the poles should frisk aboutP
And stand upon their headsQ
I hope I 'm ready for the worstR
Whatever prank betidesQ
-
Perhaps the kingdom of Heaven 's changedS
I hope the children thereT
Won't be new fashioned when I comeU
And laugh at me and stareT
-
I hope the father in the skiesQ
Will lift his little girlV
Old fashioned naughty everythingW
Over the stile of pearlV
