Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH DEIE JKLM NEEE

Death sets a thing significantA
The eye had hurried byB
Except a perished creatureC
Entreat us tenderlyD
-
To ponder little workmanshipsE
In crayon or in woolF
With This was last her fingers didG
Industrious untilH
-
The thimble weighed too heavyD
The stitches stopped themselvesE
And then 't was put among the dustI
Upon the closet shelvesE
-
A book I have a friend gaveJ
Whose pencil here and thereK
Had notched the place that pleased himL
At rest his fingers areM
-
Now when I read I read notN
For interrupting tearsE
Obliterate the etchingsE
Too costly for repairsE
