Indian Summer. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GGH IIH JJK FFL

These are the days when birds come backA
A very few a bird or twoB
To take a backward lookC
-
These are the days when skies put onD
The old old sophistries of JuneE
A blue and gold mistakeF
-
Oh fraud that cannot cheat the beeG
Almost thy plausibilityG
Induces my beliefH
-
Till ranks of seeds their witness bearI
And softly through the altered airI
Hurries a timid leafH
-
Oh sacrament of summer daysJ
Oh last communion in the hazeJ
Permit a child to joinK
-
Thy sacred emblems to partakeF
Thy consecrated bread to breakF
Taste thine immortal wineL
