He Put The Belt Around My Life, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKLMNOM

He put the belt around my lifeA
I heard the buckle snapB
And turned away imperialC
My lifetime folding upD
Deliberate as a duke would doE
A kingdom's title deedF
Henceforth a dedicated sortG
A member of the cloudH
-
Yet not too far to come at callI
And do the little toilsJ
That make the circuit of the restK
And deal occasional smilesL
To lives that stoop to notice mineM
And kindly ask it inN
Whose invitation knew you notO
For whom I must declineM
