At Home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJI KLMN OPQP

The night was wide and furnished scantA
With but a single starB
That often as a cloud it metC
Blew out itself for fearD
-
The wind pursued the little bushE
And drove away the leavesF
November left then clambered upG
And fretted in the eavesF
-
No squirrel went abroadH
A dog's belated feetI
Like intermittent plush were heardJ
Adown the empty streetI
-
To feel if blinds be fastK
And closer to the fireL
Her little rocking chair to drawM
And shiver for the poorN
-
The housewife's gentle taskO
How pleasanter said sheP
Unto the sofa oppositeQ
The sleet than May no theeP
