Along The Potomac. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD DEFG HAIA JBKL

When I was small a woman diedA
To day her only boyB
Went up from the PotomacC
His face all victoryD
-
To look at her how slowlyD
The seasons must have turnedE
Till bullets clipt an angleF
And he passed quickly roundG
-
If pride shall be in ParadiseH
I never can decideA
Of their imperial conductI
No person testifiedA
-
But proud in apparitionJ
That woman and her boyB
Pass back and forth before my brainK
As ever in the skyL
