Rhyme Scheme: A BCDD DDEF GDHD IJDD KLDD MNDD

A
-
'Twas just this time last year I diedB
I know I heard the CornC
When I was carried by the Farms mdashD
It had the Tassels on mdashD
-
I thought how yellow it would look mdashD
When Richard went to mill mdashD
And then I wanted to get outE
But something held my willF
-
I thought just how Red mdash Apples wedgedG
The Stubble's joints between mdashD
And the Carts stooping round the fieldsH
To take the Pumpkins in mdashD
-
I wondered which would miss me leastI
And when Thanksgiving cameJ
If Father'd multiply the plates mdashD
To make an even Sum mdashD
-
And would it blur the Christmas gleeK
My Stocking hang too highL
For any Santa Claus to reachD
The Altitude of me mdashD
-
But this sort grieved myselfM
And so I thought the other wayN
How just this time some perfect year mdashD
Themself should come to me mdashD
