William R. Jordan III: I'm interested in the practice of restoration, specifically restoration of ecosystems. That, of course, is about the past and what to make of it. Which is complicated, and much discussed---and debated---by ecological restorationists, and I think probably by those involved in other kinds of restoration. Clearly, Emily was onto this. I appreciate her insight, and suggest this small poem as required reading, and reflection, for everyone in the business (i.e., ultimately, probably everyone).
