Words From The Wind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DECEFGHGIHJHCKL MNI IOGOLGD

I called to the wind of the WinterA
As he sped like a steed on his wayB
'Oh rest for awhile on thy journeyC
And answer these questions I prayB
-
-
'Who is the foe to all virtueD
Who is the chieftain of crimeE
Who blackens the forehead of beautyC
And cheateth the finger of timeE
Who maketh the heart to be agedF
In the beautiful morning of youthG
Who is the herald of sorrowH
And who the assassin of TruthG
Who is the help meet of SatanI
The agent of regions belowH
Who the promoter of vicesJ
Who loadeth the bosom with woeH
Who stealeth the strength of the mightyC
Who stealeth the wits of the wiseK
Who maketh the good and the nobleL
A thing that the meanest despise '-
-
-
And the wind of the wild Winter answeredM
In a voice like a clarion callN
''Tis a beast legion headed a demonI
Whom men christened 'King Alcohol '-
This is the help meet that SatanI
Sends out from the kingdom of hellO
A many faced demon who doethG
The work of the master right wellO
For he weaveth his web round the nobleL
And slayeth the soul with his breathG
Ah this is the foe to all virtueD
And this is the agent of death '-
