Winter Rain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCDDCEFFGHHFalling upon the frozen world last | A |
I heard the slow beat of the Winter rain | B |
Poor foolish drops down dripping all in vain | B |
The ice bound Earth but mocked their puny might | C |
Far better had the fixedness of white | C |
And uncomplaining snows which make no sign | D |
But coldly smile when pitying moonbeams shine | D |
Concealed its sorrow from all human sight | C |
Long long ago in blurred and burdened years | E |
I learned the uselessness of uttered woe | F |
Though sinewy Fate deals her most skilful blow | F |
I do not waste the gall now of my tears | G |
But feed my pride upon its bitter while | H |
I look straight in the world's bold eyes and smile | H |
