When Love Is Lost Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBA AABC AABBAC

When love is lost the day sets towards the nightA
Albeit the morning sun may still be brightA
And not one cloud ship sails across the skyB
Yet from the places where it used to lieB
Gone is the lustrous glory of the lightA
-
-
No splendour rests in any mountain heightA
No scene spreads fair and beauteous to the sightA
All all seems dull and dreary to the eyeB
When love is lostC
-
-
Love lends to life its grandeur and its mightA
Love goes and leaves behind it gloom and blightA
Like ghosts of time the pallid hours drag byB
And grief's one happy thought is that we dieB
Ah what can recompense us for its flightA
When love is lostC
