What The Rain Saw Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG HIHI CDJD AKCK

Winds of the summer time what are you sayingA
What are ye seeking and what do you missB
Locks like the thistledown floating and strayingA
Cheeks like the budding rose tinted to kissB
-
See ye yon mist rising up from the riverC
That is the spirit of yesterday's rainD
Go to it fly to it call to it cry to itE
What did ye see when ye fell on the plainD
-
Rosewood and velvet and pansies and rosesF
Blossoms from loving hands tenderly castG
Lids like the leaves of a lily that closesF
After its brief little day life is pastG
-
Beautiful hands on a beautiful bosomH
Folded so quietly folded in restI
Mouth like the bud of a white petalled blossomH
Creased where the lips of an angel had pressedI
-
Lower and lower and lower and lowerC
Dust unto dust but a mound on the plainD
Left alone lonely this and this onlyJ
Saw we and see we to day said the rainD
-
Winds of the summer time vain is your seekingA
Vain is your calling with sobs in your breathK
Lips that are tender eyes full of splendourC
Wooed away sued away vanished with deathK
