Were I man grown I'd standA
With clean heart soul and handA
An honor to this landA
-
I would be good and trueB
I would notC
smokeD
andE
chewB
-
As many grown men doB
-
Tobacco is foul stuffF
-
HogsG
root it from the troughH
And serve it right enoughF
-
I wish I'd every seedI
And plant of that bad weedI
I'd make a fire indeedI
-
And these two lips of mineJ
Should neverK
taste of wineJ
-
Though it might glow and shineJ
-
No wine no beer no ginL
No ale no rum withinL
Each drink lurk shame and sinL
-
And I'd not swear Ah whenM
We boys grow into menM
You'll see true manhood thenM
-
For we shall be and doB
Just what I've said and youB
Had better try it tooB
