Until The Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCDEB DFGHGHFF IJKLKLJJ

Over the ocean of life s commotionA
We sail till the night comes onB
Sail and sail in a tiny boatC
Drifting wherever the billows goD
Out on the treacherous sea afloatC
Beat by the cruel winds that blowD
Hither and thither our boat is drawnE
Till the day dies out and the night comes onB
-
Over a meadow of light and shadowD
We wander with weary feetF
Seeking a bauble men call FameG
Grasping the dead sea fruit named wealthH
Finding each but an empty nameG
And the night the night steals on by stealthH
And we count the season of slumber sweetF
When hope lies dead in the arms of defeatF
-
Over the river a great ForeverI
Stretches beyond our sightJ
But I know by the glistening pearly gatesK
Afar from the region of strife and sinL
A beautiful angel always waitsK
To welcome the sheep of the shepherd inL
And out of the shadows of gloom and nightJ
They enter the mansion of peace and lightJ
