Unrest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJGEGE AEAEIKIK

In the youth of the year when the birds were buildingA
When the green was showing on tree and hedgeB
And the tenderest light of all lights was gildingA
The world from zenith to outermost edgeB
My soul grew sad and longingly lonelyC
I sighed for the season of sun and roseD
And I said In the Summer and that time onlyC
Lies sweet contentment and blest reposeD
-
With bee and bird for her maids of honourE
Came Princess Summer in robes of greenF
And the King of day smiled down upon herE
And wooed her and won her and made her queenF
Fruit of their union and true love's pledgesG
Beautiful roses bloomed day by dayH
And rambled in gardens and hid in hedgesG
Like royal children in sportive playH
-
My restless soul for a little seasonI
Revelled in rapture of glow and bloomJ
And then like a subject who harbours treasonI
Grew full of rebellion and grey with gloomJ
And I said I am sick of the summer's blissesG
Of warmth and beauty and nothing moreE
The full fruition my sad soul missesG
That beauteous Fall time holds in storeE
-
But now when the colours are almost blindingA
Burning and blending on bush and treeE
And the rarest fruits are mine for the findingA
And the year is ripe as a year can beE
My soul complains in the same old fashionI
Crying aloud in my troubled breastK
Is the same old longing the same old passionI
O where is the treasure which men call restK
