To-day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IGIGJKJK

I love this age of energy and forceA
Expectantly I greet each pregnant hourB
Emerging from the all creative sourceA
Supreme with promise imminent with powerB
The strident whistle and the clanging bellC
The noise of gongs the rush of motored thingsD
Are but the prophet voices which foretellC
A time when thought may use unfettered wingsD
-
Too long the drudgery of earth has beenE
A barrier 'twixt man and his own mindF
Remove the stone and lo the Christ withinE
For He is there and who so seeks shall findF
The Great Inventor is the Modern PriestG
He paves the pathway to a higher goalH
Once from the grind of endless toil releasedG
Man will explore the kingdom of his soulH
-
And all this restless rush this strain and strifeI
This noise and glare is but the fanfaradeG
That ushers in the more majestic lifeI
Where faith shall walk with science unafraidG
I feel the strong vibrations of the earthJ
I sense the coming of an hour sublimeK
And bless the star that watched above my birthJ
And let me live in this important timeK
