To An Astrologer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJK LMJNOPQKRST KUJKVWVX YJZA2VV

Nay seer I do not doubt thy mystic loreA
Nor question that the tenor of my lifeB
Past present and the future is revealedC
There in my horoscope I do believeD
That yon dead moon compels the haughty seasE
To ebb and flow and that my natal starF
Stands like a stern browed sentinel in spaceG
And challenges events nor lets one griefH
Or joy or failure or success pass onI
To mar or bless my earthly lot untilJ
It proves its Karmic right to come to meK
-
All this I grant but more than this I knowL
Before the solar systems were conceivedM
When nothing was but the unnamableJ
My spirit lived an atom of the CauseN
Through countless ages and in many formsO
It has existed ere it entered inP
This human frame to serve its little dayQ
Upon the earth The deathless Me of meK
The spark from that great all creative fireR
Is part of that eternal source called GodS
And mightier than the universeT
-
Why heK
Who knows and knowing never once forgetsU
The pedigree divine of his own soulJ
Can conquer shape and govern destinyK
And use vast space as twere a board for chessV
With stars for pawns can change his horoscopeW
To suit his will turn failure to successV
And from preordained sorrows harvest joyX
-
There is no puny planet sun or moonY
Or zodiacal sign which can controlJ
The God in us If we bring that to bearZ
Upon events we mold them to our wishA2
Tis when the infinite neath the finite gropesV
That men are governed by their horoscopesV
