To An Astrologer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJK LMJNOPQKRST KUJKVWVX YJZA2VVNay seer I do not doubt thy mystic lore | A |
Nor question that the tenor of my life | B |
Past present and the future is revealed | C |
There in my horoscope I do believe | D |
That yon dead moon compels the haughty seas | E |
To ebb and flow and that my natal star | F |
Stands like a stern browed sentinel in space | G |
And challenges events nor lets one grief | H |
Or joy or failure or success pass on | I |
To mar or bless my earthly lot until | J |
It proves its Karmic right to come to me | K |
- | |
All this I grant but more than this I know | L |
Before the solar systems were conceived | M |
When nothing was but the unnamable | J |
My spirit lived an atom of the Cause | N |
Through countless ages and in many forms | O |
It has existed ere it entered in | P |
This human frame to serve its little day | Q |
Upon the earth The deathless Me of me | K |
The spark from that great all creative fire | R |
Is part of that eternal source called God | S |
And mightier than the universe | T |
- | |
Why he | K |
Who knows and knowing never once forgets | U |
The pedigree divine of his own soul | J |
Can conquer shape and govern destiny | K |
And use vast space as twere a board for chess | V |
With stars for pawns can change his horoscope | W |
To suit his will turn failure to success | V |
And from preordained sorrows harvest joy | X |
- | |
There is no puny planet sun or moon | Y |
Or zodiacal sign which can control | J |
The God in us If we bring that to bear | Z |
Upon events we mold them to our wish | A2 |
Tis when the infinite neath the finite gropes | V |
That men are governed by their horoscopes | V |
