| The outposts of a town and finds the fort | K |
| Too strong to be assailed so time retreats | L |
| And knows his impotence He cannot take | M |

| My three great jewels from the crown of life | F |
| Love sympathy and faith and year on year | N |
| He sees them grow in lustre and in worth | O |
| And glowers by me plucking at his beard | P |
| And dragging as he goes a useless scythe | Q |

| Grim Death to steal my treasures Death replied | S |
| 'They are immortal and beyond thy reach | T |
