Their Faces Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDCC EEFF CCGH IIDDCC

O Beautiful white Angels who controlA
The inner workings of each poet soulA
Thou who hast touched my mind with tender gracesB
Come near to me that I may see thy facesC
-
Me didst thou bless before I came to earthD
Me hast thou kissed and dowered at my birthD
With such a wealth of sweet imaginingsC
That even in sleep my dreaming fancy singsC
-
Sometimes when seeing snow white clouds at noonE
Or watching silver shadows from the moonE
Within my soul has stirred a joy like fearF
As if some kindred spirit lingered nearF
-
Come closer Angels thou whose haloed wingsC
Do gild for me the meanest ways and thingsC
With beauty borrowed from the InfiniteG
Stand forth let me behold thee in the lightH
-
O thought supreme O death O life unknownI
I shall not solve thy mystery aloneI
The angels who have kissed me at my birthD
Shall take again my soul when done with earthD
And as we soar through vast star lighted spacesC
At last at last I shall behold their facesC
