The White Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABCC DEDDFGG HIHHIJJ

Wherever the white man's feet have trodA
Oh far does the white man strayB
A bold road rifles the virginal sodA
And the forest wakes out of its dream of GodA
To yield him the right of wayB
For this is the law BY THE POWER OF THOUGHTC
FOR WORSE OR FOR BETTER ARE MIRACLES WROUGHTC
-
Wherever the white man's pathway leadsD
Far far has that pathway goneE
The Earth is littered with broken creedsD
And alway the dark man's tent recedesD
And the white man pushes onF
For this is the law BE IT GOOD OR ILLG
ALL THINGS MUST YIELD TO THE STRONGER WILLG
-
Wherever the white man's light is shedH
Oh far has that light been thrownI
Though Nature has suffered and beauty bledH
Yet the goal of the race has been thrust aheadH
And the might of the race has grownI
For this is the law BE IT CRUEL OR KINDJ
THE UNIVERSE SWAYS TO THE POWER OF MINDJ
