The Universal Route Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIHI JKLK

As we journey along with a laugh and a songA
We see on youth s flower decked slopeB
Like a beacon of light shining fair on the sightC
The beautiful Station of HopeB
-
But the wheels of old Time roll along as we climbD
And our youth speeds away on the yearsE
And with hearts that are numb with life s sorrows we comeF
To the mist covered Station of TearsG
-
Still onward we pass where the milestones alasH
Are tombs of our dead to the WestI
Where glitters and gleams in the dying sunbeamsH
The sweet silent Station of RestI
-
All rest is but change and no grave can estrangeJ
The soul from its Parent aboveK
And scorning the rod it soars back to GodL
To the limitless City of LoveK
