The Universal Route Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIHI JKLKAs we journey along with a laugh and a song | A |
We see on youth s flower decked slope | B |
Like a beacon of light shining fair on the sight | C |
The beautiful Station of Hope | B |
- | |
But the wheels of old Time roll along as we climb | D |
And our youth speeds away on the years | E |
And with hearts that are numb with life s sorrows we come | F |
To the mist covered Station of Tears | G |
- | |
Still onward we pass where the milestones alas | H |
Are tombs of our dead to the West | I |
Where glitters and gleams in the dying sunbeams | H |
The sweet silent Station of Rest | I |
- | |
All rest is but change and no grave can estrange | J |
The soul from its Parent above | K |
And scorning the rod it soars back to God | L |
To the limitless City of Love | K |
