The Swan Of Dijon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACCBDE FGFGGG HHIIJJ

I was in Dijon when the war's wild blastA
Was at its loudest when there was no soundB
From dawn to dawn save soldiers marching pastA
Or rattle of their wagons in the streetC
When every engine whistle would repeatC
Persistently with meaning tense profoundB
'We carry men to slaughter' or 'we bringD
Remnants of men back as war's offering 'E
-
-
And there in Dijon the out gazing eyeF
Grew weary of the strife suggesting sceneG
But searching found one quiet spot hard byF
Where war was not a little lake whereonG
Moved leisurely a stately tranquil swanG
Majestic and imposing yet sereneG
-
-
I was in Dijon when no sound or sightH
Woke thoughts of peace save this one speck of whiteH
Sailing 'neath skies of menace unafraidI
While silver fountains for his pleasure playedI
Dear Swan of Dijon it was your good partJ
To rest a tired heartJ
