Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GFGF HIHI JKJK LMLM

High o er the clouds a Sunbeam shoneA
And far down under himB
With a subtle grace that was all her ownA
The Mist gleamed fair and dimB
-
He looked at her with burning eyesC
And longed to fall at her feetD
Of all sweet things there under the skiesC
He thought her the thing most sweetD
-
He had wooed oft as a Sunbeam mayE
Wave and blossom and flowerF
But never before had he felt the swayE
Of a great love s mighty powerF
-
Tall cloud mountains and vast space seasG
Wind and tempest and fireF
What obstacles such as theseG
To a heart that is filled with desireF
-
Boldly he trod over cloud and starH
Boldly he swam through spaceI
She caught the glow of his eyes afarH
And veiled her delicate faceI
-
He was so strong and he was so brightJ
And his breath was a breath of flameK
The Mist grew pale with a vague strange frightJ
As fond yet fierce he cameK
-
Close to his heart she was clasped and kissedL
She swooned in love s alarmsM
And dead lay the beautiful pale faced MistL
In the Sunbeam s passionate armsM
