Here in my cosy cornerA
Before a blazing logB
I'm thinking of cold LondonC
Wrapped in its killing fogD
And like a shining beaconC
Above the picture grimE
I see the London 'Bobby 'F
And sing my song for himE
-
I see his stalwart figureA
I see his kindly faceG
I hear his helpful answerA
At any hour or placeG
For though you seek some by wayH
Long miles from his own beatI
He tells you all about itJ
And how to find the streetI
-
He looks like some bold VikingK
This king of earth's policeL
Yet in his voice lies feelingK
And in his eye lies peaceL
He knows and does his dutyM
What higher praise is thereN
And London's lords and paupersO
Alike receive his careN
-
He has a regal bearingK
Yet one that breathes reposeP
It is the look and mannerA
Of one who THINKS and KNOWSP
Oh men who govern nationsQ
In old worlds or in newR
Turn to the London 'Bobby'S
And learn a thing or twoR
