The Land Between Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF AGAGHH IJKJLL DMDMNN

Between the little Here and larger YonderA
There is a realm or so one day I readB
Where faithful spirits love enchained may wanderA
Till some remembering soul from earth has fledB
Then reunited they go forth afarC
From sphere to sphere where wondrous angels areC
-
Not many spirits in that realm are waitingD
Not many pause upon its shores to restE
For only love intense and unabatingD
Can hold them from the longer higher questE
And after grief has wept itself to sleepF
Few hearts on earth their vital memories keepF
-
Should I pass on across the mystic borderA
Let thy love link me to that pallid landG
I would not seek the heavens of finer orderA
Until thy barque had left this coarser strandG
How desolate such journeyings would beH
Though straight to Him were they not shared by theeH
-
Wert thou first called dear God how could I bear itI
I should enchain thee with my love I knowJ
Not great enough am I to free thy spiritK
From all these tender ties and bid thee goJ
Nor would a soul unselfish as thine ownL
Forget so soon and speed to heaven aloneL
-
On earth we find no joy in ways divergingD
How could we find it in the worlds unseenM
I know old memories from my bosom surgingD
Would keep thee waiting in that Land BetweenM
Until together side by side we trodN
A path of stars in our great search for GodN
