The Bridal Kiss Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

As fleecy clouds trail back across the skiesA
Showing the sweet young moon in azure spaceB
The lifted veil revealed her shining faceB
A sudden wonder to his eager eyesA
In that familiar beauty lurked surpriseA
For now the wife stood in the maiden's placeB
With conscious dignity and woman's graceB
And love's large pride grown trebly fair and wiseA
-
The world receded leaving them aloneC
The universe was theirs from sphere to sphereD
And life assumed new meaning and new worthE
Love held no privilege they did not ownC
And when they kissed each other without fearD
They understood why God had made the earthE
