The Bridal Eve Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB EFGFHF IGJGKG LMNMOM PBQBRB STUTVT UWO KW

I stand in the blaze of the candle raysA
While my merry maidens threeB
Arrange each tress and loop my dressC
And render me fair to seeB
But oh for the eyes that never againD
Will smile like the stars on meB
-
I sweep down the stair a bride most fairE
And some one takes my handF
I am numb and cold but the lie is toldG
I smile and my lord is blandF
But oh for a sight of my rover wildH
Who wanders abroad in the landF
-
I am queen of the ball and the festal hallI
I have beauty and youth and goldG
Men bow at the shrine of this lord of mineJ
Lord of his sums untoldG
But oh to be off in the wilds to nightK
With my lover brave and boldG
-
I dream a dream while the candles gleamL
While the dancers merrily glideM
Neath the evening star I am speeding farN
Oh a good steed do I rideM
And my heart beats high with hope and cheerO
For my love is at my sideM
-
We ride and sing and the echoes ringP
With our voices blithe and freeB
We have no wealth but our love and healthQ
And our cot on the wide green leaB
But I love my love with a mighty loveR
And I know that he loves meB
-
We ride away in the dying dayS
We ride till we reach the spotT
Where all alone in the wilds unknownU
We find our lonely cotT
And I have no wish in the whole wide worldV
And I know that my love has notT
-
With a dreary moan the viols groanU
And the dancers pause for breathW
And my lord says 'Dear you are ill I fearO
You are paler than your wreath '-
O God O God to be out in the nightK
Riding with love or deathW
