The Beautiful Land Of Nod Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHGHIJKJ LMLMNOPOQBRB

Come cuddle your head on my shoulder dearA
Your head like the golden rodB
And we will go sailing away from hereC
To the beautiful land of NodB
Away from life s hurry and flurry and worryD
Away from earth s shadows and gloomE
To a world of fair weather we ll float off togetherF
Where the roses are always in bloomE
-
Just shut up your eyes and fold your handsG
Your hands like the leaves of a roseH
And we will go sailing to those fair landsG
That an atlas never showsH
On the North and the West they are bounded by restI
On the South and the East by dreamsJ
Tis the country ideal where nothing is realK
But everything only seemsJ
-
Just dropp down the curtains of your dear eyesL
Those eyes like a bright blue bellM
And we will sail out under starlit skiesL
To the land where the fairies dwellM
Down the river of sleep our barque shall sweepN
Till it reaches the mystical isleO
Which no man has seen but where all have beenP
And there we will pause for awhileO
I will croon you a song as we float alongQ
To that shore that is blessed of GodB
Then ho for that fair land we re off for that rare landR
That beautiful Land of NodB
