Sun Shadows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

There never was success so nobly gainedA
Or victory so free from selfish drossB
But in the winning some one had been painedA
Or some one suffered lossB
-
There never was so nobly planned a feteC
Or festal throng with hearts on pleasure bentD
But some neglected one outside the gateC
Wept tears of discontentD
-
There never was a bridal morning fairE
With hope's blue skies and love's unclouded sunF
For two fond hearts that did not bring despairE
To some sad other oneF
