September Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

My life's long radiant Summer halts at lastA
And lo beside my path way I beholdB
Pursuing Autumn glide nor frost nor coldB
Has heralded her presence but a vastA
Sweet calm that comes not till the year has passedA
Its fevered solstice and a tinge of goldB
Subdues the vivid colouring of boldB
And passion hued emotions I will castA
-
My August days behind me with my MayC
Nor strive to drag them into Autumn's placeD
Nor swear I hope when I do but rememberE
Now violet and rose have had their dayC
I'll pluck the soberer asters with good graceD
And call September nothing but SeptemberE
