Reverie Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG FHIHABDB JKLKHEM MNA

The day has been wild and stormyA
And full of the wind's unrestB
And I sat down alone by the windowC
While the sunset dyed the WestB
And the holy rush of twilightD
As the day went over the hillE
Like the voice of a spirit seemed speakingF
And saying 'Peace be still 'G
-
Then I thought with sudden longingF
That it might be so with my woesH
That the life so wild and restlessI
When it reached the eve's reposeH
Might glow with a sudden gloryA
And be crowned with peace and restB
And the holy calm of twilightD
Might come to my troubled breastB
-
All of the pain and passionJ
That trouble my life's long dayK
As the winds go down at sunsetL
May suddenly pass awayK
And the wild and turbulent billowsH
That surge in my heart at willE
Shall be hushed into calm and silenceM
By the whisper 'Peace be still '-
And my soul grew full of patienceM
And I said 'I can bear it allN
Though the day be long and stormyA
The twilight at last must fall '-
