Reunited Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDEC FGGF HIIH JKKJ LMML

Let us begin dear love where we left offA
Tie up the broken threads of that old dreamB
And go on happy as before and seemB
Lovers again though all the world may scoffA
-
Let us forget the graves which lie betweenC
Our parting and our meeting and the tearsD
That rusted out the goldwork of the yearsE
The frosts that fell upon our gardens greenC
-
Let us forget the cold malicious FateF
Who made our loving hearts her idle toysG
And once more revel in the old sweet joysG
Of happy love Nay it is not too lateF
-
Forget the deep ploughed furrows in my browH
Forget the silver gleaming in my hairI
Look only in my eyes Oh darling thereI
The old love shone no warmer then than nowH
-
Down in the tender depths of thy dear eyesJ
I find the lost sweet memory of my youthK
Bright with the holy radiance of thy truthK
And hallowed with the blue of summer skiesJ
-
Tie up the broken threads and let us goL
Like reunited lovers hand in handM
Back and yet onward to the sunny landM
Of our To Be which was our Long AgoL
