I backward glanced From valley plain and height | B |
At intervals where my life path had run | A |
Rose cross on cross and nailed upon each one | A |
Was my dead self And yet that gruesome sight | B |
Lent sudden splendour to the falling night | B |
Showing the conquests that my soul had won | A |

'There is no death for year on year re born | D |
I wake to larger life to joy more great | E |
So many times have I been crucified | C |
So often seen the resurrection morn | D |
I go triumphant though new Calvaries wait | E |
