Resurrection Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

Pausing a moment ere the day was doneA
While yet the earth was scintillant with lightB
I backward glanced From valley plain and heightB
At intervals where my life path had runA
Rose cross on cross and nailed upon each oneA
Was my dead self And yet that gruesome sightB
Lent sudden splendour to the falling nightB
Showing the conquests that my soul had wonA
-
Up to the rising stars I looked and criedC
'There is no death for year on year re bornD
I wake to larger life to joy more greatE
So many times have I been crucifiedC
So often seen the resurrection mornD
I go triumphant though new Calvaries waitE
