| Makes cowards out of men The human race | B |
| Has climbed on protest Had no voice been raised | C |
| Against injustice ignorance and lust | D |
| The Inquisition yet would serve the law | E |
| And guillotines decide our least disputes | F |
| The few who dare must speak and speak again | G |
| To right the wrongs of many Speech thank God | H |
| No vested power in this great day and land | I |
| Can gag or throttle Press and voice may cry | J |
| Loud disapproval of existing ills | K |
| May criticise oppression and condemn | L |
| The lawlessness of wealth protecting laws | M |
| That let the children and child bearers toil | N |
| To purchase ease for idle millionaires | O |
| Therefore do I protest against the boast | P |
| Of independence in this mighty land | I |
| Call no chain strong which holds one rusted link | Q |
| Call no land free that holds one fettered slave | R |
| Until the manacled slim wrists of babes | S |
| Are loosed to toss in childish sport and glee | T |
| Until the Mother bears no burden save | R |
| The precious one beneath her heart until | U |
| God's soil is rescued from the clutch of greed | V |
| And given back to labour let no man | W |
| Call this the Land of Freedom | X |
