Protest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPIQRS TRUVWX

To sit in silence when we should protestA
Makes cowards out of men The human raceB
Has climbed on protest Had no voice been raisedC
Against injustice ignorance and lustD
The Inquisition yet would serve the lawE
And guillotines decide our least disputesF
The few who dare must speak and speak againG
To right the wrongs of many Speech thank GodH
No vested power in this great day and landI
Can gag or throttle Press and voice may cryJ
Loud disapproval of existing illsK
May criticise oppression and condemnL
The lawlessness of wealth protecting lawsM
That let the children and child bearers toilN
To purchase ease for idle millionairesO
Therefore do I protest against the boastP
Of independence in this mighty landI
Call no chain strong which holds one rusted linkQ
Call no land free that holds one fettered slaveR
Until the manacled slim wrists of babesS
Are loosed to toss in childish sport and gleeT
Until the Mother bears no burden saveR
The precious one beneath her heart untilU
God's soil is rescued from the clutch of greedV
And given back to labour let no manW
Call this the Land of FreedomX
