Perished Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDD EFEFFGG HIHIJKK DLDLMNO

I called to the summer sunA
Come over the hills to dayB
Unlock the rivers and tell them to runA
And kiss the snow drifts and melt them awayB
And the sun came over a tardy loverC
And unlocked the river and told it to glideD
And kissed the snow drift till it fainted and diedD
-
I called to the robin Come backE
Come up from the south and singF
And robin sailed up on an airy trackE
And smoothed down his feathers and oiled his wingF
And the notes came gushing gurgling rushingF
In trills and quavers clear mellow and strongG
Till the glad air quivered and rang with songG
-
I said to the orchard BlowH
I said to the meadow BloomI
And the trees stood white like brides in a rowH
And the breeze was laden with rare perfumeI
And over the meadows in lights and shadowsJ
The daisies white and violets blueK
And yellow haired buttercups blossomed and grewK
-
I called to a hope that diedD
With the death of the flowers and grassL
Come back For the river is free to glideD
The robin sings and the daisies bloom AlasL
For the hope I cherished too rudely perishedM
To ever awaken and live againN
Though a hundred summers creep over the plainO
