Pain's Purpose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDEE

How blind is he who prays that God will sendA
All pain from earth Pain has its use and placeB
Its ministry of holiness and graceB
The darker tones upon the canvas blendA
With light and colour and their shadows lendA
The painting half its dignity EffaceB
The sombre background and you lose all traceB
Of that perfection which is true art's trendA
-
Life is an artist seeking to revealC
God's majesty and beauty in each soulD
If from the palette mortal man could stealC
The precious pigment pain why then the scrollD
Would glare with colours meaningless and brightE
Or show an empty canvas blurred with lightE
