Only A Glove Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABB CDCDD EFEFF EDEDD

Only a glove that has touched her fingersA
But it seems to me something half divineB
A delicate fragrance about it lingersA
And it stirs my blood like wineB
Yes thrills and warms me like wineB
-
So well I remember the night she wore itC
How I held the hand in its dainty gloveD
And whispered sweetly as I leaned o'er itC
Whispered a tale of loveD
A story of my mad loveD
-
There was mirth and music and light and laughterE
The viols played and the dancers whirledF
We were part of it all but a moment afterE
Were alone in love's fair worldF
Alone in God's own worldF
-
But now of that night of glow and splendourE
Of happy hope and beautiful loveD
Of youthful dreams that were sweetly tenderE
There is nothing left but a gloveD
Nothing but this one gloveD
