One By One Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JKJKLL MAMANN

Little by little and one by oneA
Out of the ether were worlds createdB
Star and planet and sea and sunA
All in the nebulous Nothing waitedB
Till the Nameless One Who has many a nameC
Called them to being and forth they cameC
-
-
All things mighty and all things smallD
Stone and flower and sentient beingE
Each is an answer to that one callD
A part of Himself that His will is freeingE
Freeing to go on the long long wayF
That winds back home at the end of the dayF
-
-
Little by little does mortal manG
Build his castles for joy and gloryH
And one by one time shatters each planG
And lowers his palaces story by storyH
Story by story till earth is justI
A row of graves in the lowly dustI
-
-
One by one whatever was calledJ
Must be called back to the primal CentreK
Let no soul tremble or be appalledJ
For the heart of the Maker is where we enterK
Is where we enter to gain new forceL
Before we are sent on another courseL
-
-
And one by one as He calls us backM
We shall find the souls that we loved with passionA
In the great way stations along the trackM
And clasp them again in the old sweet fashionA
In the old sweet fashion when earth we trodN
And journey along with them up to GodN
