Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCBDB EBFBCGHG IJBJCKLM NICIDOPO Q

Ho for the day in the whole year the brightestA
Long may it live in the heart of the nationB
Long may it be ere the names are forgottenB
That boldly were signed to the grand declarationB
Shout sons of liberty shout for the one land freeC
Under the sunB
On this thrice bless d day its bonds were struck awayD
Its thongs undoneB

-
Ho for our banner the emblem of freedomE
What can arouse a true hero's devotionB
What like the Stars and Stripes floating above usF
Queen of all lands and the peer of the oceanB
Oh it is fair to see oh it is dear to meC
Flag of the braveG
Time's wheel shall cease to move true hearts shall cease to loveH
Ere it cease to waveG
-
-
But there's a blemish now staining our bannerI
The bright stars are dimmed and the fair stripes are spottedJ
With the tears of the drunkard's wife mother and childrenB
With hot tears of shame is our flag blurred and blottedJ
Victims of tyranny strike till our land is freeC
From King AlcoholK
Strike down his whelps of sin rum brandy beer and ginL
Strangle them allM
-
-
Up to the contest and wipe out this blemishN
Columbia's son and Columbia's daughterI
God speed the day when the one 'Land of Freedom'C
Shall add to its title the 'Land of Cold Water'I
Three cheers for Columbia and this her natal dayD
God bless the rightO
And guard from a traitor's hand this our beloved landP
And the Red Blue and WhiteO
