Mad Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GBGB HIHI

Could I but hear you laugh across the streetA
Though I or mine shared nothing in your gleeB
Could I taste that one drop of bitter sweetA
'Twere more than life to meB
-
If I might see you coming through the doorC
Though with averted face and smileless eyeD
Were I allowed that little boon no moreC
Then I were glad to dieD
-
But oh my God this living day on dayE
Stripped of the only joy your starved heart hadF
Shut in a prison world and forced to stayE
Why that way souls go madF
-
To day I heard a woman say the earthG
All blossom garlanded was fair to seeB
I laughed with such intensity of mirthG
The woman shrank from meB
-
Fair Why I see the blackness of the tombH
Where'er I turn and grave mould on each browI
And grinning faces peer out of the gloomH
Good God I am mad nowI
