Love Will Wane Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEBB FFGG HHDD BBGG IIBB

When your love begins to waneA
Spare me from the cruel painA
Of all speech that tells me soB
Spare me words for I shall knowB
-
By the half averted eyesC
By the breast that no more sighsC
By the rapture I shall missD
From your strangely altered kissD
-
By the arms that still enfoldE
But have lost their clinging holdE
And too willing let me goB
I shall know love I shall knowB
-
Bitter will the knowledge beF
Bitterer than death to meF
Yet 'twill come to me some dayG
For it is sad world's wayG
-
Make no vows vows cannot bindH
Changing hearts of wayward mindH
Men grow weary of a blissD
Passionate and fond as thisD
-
Love will wane But I shall knowB
If you do not tell me soB
Know it tho' you smile and sayG
That you love me more each dayG
-
Know it by the inner sightI
That forever sees arightI
Words could not but increase my woeB
And without them I shall knowB
