Love's Mirage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAAAA BAABAA

Midway upon the route he paused athirstA
And suddenly across the wastes of heatA
He saw cool waters gleaming and a sweetA
Green oasis upon his vision burstA
A tender dream long in his bosom nursedA
Spread love's illusive verdure for his feetA
The barren sands changed into golden wheatA
The way grew glad that late had seemed accursedA
-
She shone the woman wonder on his soulB
The garden spot for which men toil and waitA
The house of rest that is each heart's demandA
But when at last he reached the gleaming goalB
He found oh cruel irony of fateA
But desert sun upon the desert sandA
