Life's Harmonies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF

Let no man pray that he know not sorrowA
Let no soul ask to be free from painB
For the gall of to day is the sweet of to morrowA
And the moment's loss is the lifetime's gainB
-
Through want of a thing does its worth redoubleC
Through hunger's pangs does the feast contentD
And only the heart that has harbored troubleC
Can fully rejoice when joy is sentD
-
Let no man shrink from the bitter tonicsE
Of grief and yearning and need and strifeF
For the rarest chords in the soul's harmoniesG
Are found in the minor strains of lifeF
