| We learn at least which path is wrong | A |

| The Christs alone no errors made | E |

| The paths that lead through light and shade | E |

| They passed along the way | H |
| And left those mighty truths which men | G |
| But dimly grasp to day | H |

| But he who loves himself the last | I |
| And knows the use of pain | J |
| Though strewn with errors all his past | I |
| He surely shall attain | J |

| Some souls there are that needs must taste | K |
