Though favours fall on those whom none esteem | A |
And insult and indifference greet worth | B |
Though poverty repays the life of toil | C |
And riches spring where idle feet have trod | D |
And storms lay waste the patiently tilled soil | C |
Yet Justice sways the universe of God | D |

As undisturbed the stately stars remain | E |
Beyond the glare of day's obscuring light | F |
So Justice dwells though mortal eyes in vain | E |
Seek it persistently by reason's sight | F |
But when once freed the illumined soul looks out | G |
Its cry will be 'O God how could I doubt ' | - |
