Insight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL

On the river of life as I float alongA
I see with the spirit's sightB
That many a nauseous weed of wrongA
Has root in a seed of rightB
For evil is good that has gone astrayC
And sorrow is only blindnessD
And the world is always under the swayC
Of a changeless law of kindnessD
-
The commonest error a truth can makeE
Is shouting its sweet voice hoarseF
And sin is only the soul's mistakeE
In misdirecting its forceF
And love the fairest of all fair thingsG
That ever to man descendedH
Grows rank with nettles and poisonous thingsG
Unless it is watched and tendedH
-
There could not be anything better than thisI
Old world in the way it beganJ
And though some matters have gone amissI
From the great original planJ
And however dark the skies may appearK
And however souls may blunderL
I tell you it all will work out clearK
For good lies over and underL
