AmA
I know not whence I cameB
I know not whither I goC
But the fact stands clear that I am hereD
In this world of pleasure and woeC
And out of the mist and the murkE
Another truth shines plainF
It is my power each day and hourG
To add to its joy or its painF
-
I know that the earth existsH
It is none of my business whyI
I cannot find out what it s all aboutJ
I would but waste time to tryI
My life is a brief brief thingK
I am here for a little spaceL
And while I stay I would like if I mayM
To brighten and better the placeL
-
The trouble I think with us allN
Is the lack of a high conceitO
If each man thought he was sent to this spotP
To make it a bit more sweetO
How soon we could gladden the worldQ
How easily right all wrongR
If nobody shirked and each one workedS
To help his fellows alongR
-
Cease wondering why you cameB
Stop looking for faults and flawsT
Rise up to day in your pride and sayM
I am part of the First Great CauseU
However full the worldQ
There is room for an earnest manV
It had need of me or I would not beW
I am here to strengthen the planV
