But the fact stands clear that I am here | D |
In this world of pleasure and woe | C |
And out of the mist and the murk | E |
Another truth shines plain | F |
It is my power each day and hour | G |
To add to its joy or its pain | F |

It is none of my business why | I |
I cannot find out what it s all about | J |
I would but waste time to try | I |
My life is a brief brief thing | K |
I am here for a little space | L |
And while I stay I would like if I may | M |
To brighten and better the place | L |

The trouble I think with us all | N |
Is the lack of a high conceit | O |
If each man thought he was sent to this spot | P |
To make it a bit more sweet | O |
How soon we could gladden the world | Q |
How easily right all wrong | R |
If nobody shirked and each one worked | S |
To help his fellows along | R |

Cease wondering why you came | B |
Stop looking for faults and flaws | T |
Rise up to day in your pride and say | M |
I am part of the First Great Cause | U |
However full the world | Q |
There is room for an earnest man | V |
It had need of me or I would not be | W |
I am here to strengthen the plan | V |
